Lantigua Designs was created in 2004 when writer, Lizette M. Lantigua decided to combine her communications skills and her love for art to develop an original line of greeting cards in Spanish and English. This line of cards is uniquely positioned to serve the fast growing and richly diverse U.S. Hispanic market.

Lizette was born in Queens, New York and raised in South Florida. As a newspaper reporter and television producer, she has extensively covered the Hispanic community for the last 20 years.

“U.S. Hispanics have typically been treated as a monolithic group. They are actually composed of many different nationalities with various traditions,” explains Lizette, who is of Cuban origin. “The goal of Lantigua Designs is to create cards, gifts and stationery for all Hispanics with a unique emphasis on the richness of the distinct customs that make each of us special.”

The greeting cards aim to establish a special connection with Colombians, Nicaraguans, Argentineans, Venezuelans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans and Latinos of all nationalities. The cards tap into their individual ethnicities as well as the many traditions they also have in common.

As a professional journalist for most of her career, Lizette has worked at WLTV Channel 23 Univision, El Nuevo Herald/The Miami Herald and WSCV Channel 51 Telemundo. Her personal experiences, coupled with her work in the media, has given her extensive insight into the various Latin ethnic groups in the United States and it is thoroughly conveyed in this exciting and refreshing style of greeting cards.
